Susan is a primatologist and conservation biologist who works for OuTrop and is involved in WildCRU as well as MASC. She works in Indonesia with orang utans and gibbons as well as non-primate species such as clouded leopards. She has worked on preparing confiscated and injured gibbons for re-release, monitoring their behaviours pre and post release. She is the font of knowledge for how to do things in a charity and we would be lost without her knowledge of the ins and outs of charity work. She teaches now on the Oxford Brookes Primate Conservation Masters that Joy and Aoife have both completed. She met Joy and Aoife while they were doing the Masters and spent many late night pub sessions discussing the importance and relevance of rescue and rehabilitation centres to conservation and the importance of environmental education.
